The ongoing pandemic and war in Ukraine are causing a parts supply disruption that has caused a ripple effect through the new-car market, with some models boasting notable discounts and others holding tight to their sticker price or even commanding a premium. The new model year has brought some potential savings on SUVs from Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC.

To identify the best deals on new SUVs, Consumer Reports’ analysts studied current national incentives to find models worth considering. To make sure the featured SUVs represent smart buys, we concentrated on models with a strong Overall Score, factoring in road-test performance, owner satisfaction, reliability, and safety. (Learn more about CR’s car ratings.)

We found eight SUVs that meet that stringent criteria and have incentives.

    More on Car Buying

All nationwide incentives featured below are good until Feb. 28, 2023. The vehicles are listed in rank order by the percentage of potential savings off MSRP, which this month is 4 to 8 percent. Similar discounts can be found on other versions in addition to the specific trim and configuration that we spotlight. All the featured vehicles are 2023 models. Each month we aim to highlight the 10 best SUV deals, but due to market conditions, there are only eight models right now that meet our criteria for being both good and having incentives.

Although each model highlighted here has incentives, transaction data from our partner TrueCar shows that, on average, most of these are selling for a bit over sticker price. This underscores the importance of being armed with the latest data and using it to negotiate, or using a car-buying service.

There may be regional deals that outshine these national offerings. They can be found through CR’s Build & Buy Car Buying Service, a program that allows shoppers to configure the car they want, compare local transaction prices, and have participating dealers provide their best offer, which should include incentives.

Detailed pricing information and complete ratings are available for all current vehicles on their respective model pages, linked to below.

Local supply and demand will influence how much a dealer is willing to bend on price, especially as consumer behavior changes and dealerships face the continued impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
